Getting Started

The process for transferring an account from an external brokerage (ACAT) is simple and straight-forward. We’ve streamlined the process to make it as frictionless as possible for the user.

Full Account Transfers

  1. Required information is submitted via the API.
  2. Information collected is sent to Tradier and Apex for processing.
  3. Please ensure that the most recent account statement from the contra firm is uploaded to your Advisor-specific SendSafely dropbox.
  4. Once the request has been processed the customer will receive an email updating them on the status.

Partial Account Transfers

  1. Partial account transfers can be done by submitting the request through the following link: Partial ACAT Docusign Form
  2. Please ensure that the most recent account statement from the contra firm is uploaded to your Advisor-specific SendSafely dropbox.
  3. Once the request has been processed the customer will receive an email updating them on the status.

Expected timeframes for processing

Full and Partial account transfers requests are generally processed in 1-2 business days. After processing, assets can take 5-7 business days to be received. In some instances, such as non-ACAT transfers and annuity surrenders, where physical paperwork is exchanged, the timeframe can be longer.

Please note that delays can occur if clients continue to trade in the account that they are transferring from or if they are requesting the transfer of options expiring within 2 weeks.
