Create an account streaming session

  • Available in Paper Trading
  • Available in Production
  • Available to Advisors
  • Supported

Note: This API is presently in Beta. It is only available to Tradier Brokerage account holders and should only be used in production applications with caution.

Create a streaming session for use with the Tradier Streaming API. This session can be used with the streaming endpoints to obtain account updates such as order status changes as they happen.

Note: Once a sessionid is received, it will be valid for 5 minutes, during which time you can initiate a stream. After the session expires and you’ll need to create a new session in order to stream data.

Note that it is not permitted to open more than one session at a time.
Some HTTP clients require to manually set the Content-length: 0 header in cases where the POST request doesn't include a body.
POST

Headers

Header Required Values/Example Default
Accept Optional application/xml, application/json application/xml

     -H 'Authorization: Bearer <TOKEN>' \
     -H 'Accept: application/json'
